How Bad Do You Really Want the Life You Keep Praying For?

Hey,

Sometimes we pray for opportunities, but when they finally start showing up, fear, distraction, exhaustion, and overwhelm suddenly try to convince us that we’re not ready for them.

This week reminded me of something important: faith without works is dead. You cannot pray for growth, elevation, opportunities, healing, or purpose and then freeze when God says go.

And honestly, I have to constantly encourage myself:

To do the work.
To show up for myself.
And to step out of my own way.

And when I’m tired, discouraged, overwhelmed, or feel like I can’t keep going, I have to stop and ask myself: “How badly do I really want the life I keep praying for?”

The truth is, living in survival mode is not the life God has for any of us. He wants more for us, but so often we allow fear, doubt, exhaustion, procrastination, and even our own thinking to keep us stuck in places we’ve already outgrown.

This week, I was offered an opportunity to travel to Toronto — all expenses paid — to train a company’s employees in the art of embroidery. If you would’ve told me a few years ago — better yet, a few weeks ago — that my gift would open doors like this, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.

Almost immediately after receiving good news, the distractions came. The enemy will always try to discourage you when you’re getting close to something bigger. Normally, I would’ve shut down, overthought everything, spiraled into anxiety, and convinced myself it was all too much.

But this time… I didn’t. This time, I recognized the distraction for what it was: a speed bump, not a dead end. And right after that? Another blessing showed up.

What’s been even more beautiful is watching the people connected to me experience blessings too. We’re all winning, growing, being blessed, and genuinely cheering one another on. It feels like God has opened the windows of heaven and started pouring out blessings — opening doors, restoring hope, creating opportunities, shifting mindsets, and reminding us that obedience, consistency, and faith really do matter.

Sometimes the breakthrough isn’t in doing something extraordinary.
Sometimes it’s simply in refusing to quit this time.

Keep going.
Keep building.
Keep planting seeds.
Keep showing up even when you’re tired.

Because when preparation finally meets opportunity, your life can change very quickly.

A quiet prayer:

God, thank You for reminding me that there is more on the other side of fear, exhaustion, doubt, and survival mode. Thank You for every opportunity, every lesson, every closed door that protected me, and every open door that is pushing me closer to purpose.

When I’m tired, discouraged, or tempted to give up, remind me to keep going. Help me to do the work, show up for myself, and step out of my own way — even when it’s uncomfortable.

Thank You for the blessings You are pouring not only into my life, but into the lives of the people connected to me. Continue to guide us, strengthen us, and remind us that what You have for us will never miss us.

Amen. ✨
